Not The Pink One Growing Up Girl
Girls are supposed to like pink, and boys are supposed to like blue. What about all those other colors? As a girl, I didn’t like pink at all. It didn’t matter. My mother kept buying pink things.

I was maybe ten years old. I loved baseball and he hated it. I don’t think he really wanted my doll. He liked a girl over on the other block. He probably gave it to her.
My mother was absolutely angry about what I’d done. Sorry Mom, some girls just don’t like pink. Doesn’t mean they’re not girls.
