I still read a lot. There is no way to laser in on what makes the books we love, the books we love. Perhaps the writing entices us or perhaps it\u2019s all about the story. Either way, there is an unquestionable magic to the great books that hit all the right notes for us. They take us into another world and hold us until the story is done. It would be impossible for every book to tick all the boxes to move it into that magical place where the only thing in the world is you and the story. But oh, how I chase the high. Here is my list of 10 great books that hit all the right notes for me.<\/p><h3>\u00a0Here is my list of Top 10 books:<\/h3>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_1a1y685   \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n    <p>1.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.narnia.com\/us\/\"><em>The Chronicles of Narnia<\/em> Series<\/a> by\u00a0 C.S. Lewis This series is captivating. Young readers will find a fantasy world to get lost in for many days. Great summer series.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us.macmillan.com\/books\/9780812550702\/endersgame\">Ender\u2019s Game<\/a> by Orson Scott Card\u00a0I rooted for\u00a0 Ender. He was the underdog that we love to see beat the odds. But the book was so much more than an underdog story. It was about ethics. The original sequels are excellent too.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.mtsac.edu\/jmcfaul\/Letters%20From%20The%20Earth.pdf\"><em>Letters from the Earth<\/em><\/a> by Mark Twain Twain&#8217;s book is Satirical Rhetoric and is one of the funnies books I&#8217;ve ever read.\u00a0 Anyone who can read the book with an open mind, will find food for thought inside.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fantasybookreview.co.uk\/JRR-Tolkien\/The-Lord-Of-The-Rings.html\"><em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em> Series<\/a> (which for me includes The Silmarillion)\u00a0 by J. R. R. Tolkien I love the books, not the movies. These books captured my imagination and with them I painted the landscape of the worlds Tolkien created. My imagination was not as dark or scary as the movies.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/643832\/notes-of-a-native-son-by-james-baldwin\/\"><em>Notes of a Native Son<\/em><\/a> by James Baldwin\u00a0There are so many reasons to like this book, chief among them is the writing. Baldwin is so lyrical, plus his writing style is powerful, raw and honest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandcentralpublishing.com\/titles\/octavia-e-butler\/wild-seed\/9781538751480\/\"><em>Wild Seed<\/em><\/a> by Octavia Butler\u00a0I&#8217;ll admit it, this book caught me by surprise. Yet, in it, I found a world so completely drawn, characters so original and a story so utterly fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.neurosciencemarketing.com\/blog\/articles\/mistakes-were-made.htm\"><em>Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me)<\/em><\/a> by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson. A book about self-deception may not sound like it belongs on a top 10 books list, but this one changed my life. The authors&#8217; presentation proved to be well-written, informative and for me inspirational.<\/p>\n<p>8. <a href=\"https:\/\/dunenovels.com\/original-dune-series\/\"><em>Dune <\/em><\/a>by Frank Herbert My first dog was named Dune because I loved this book that much. The world Herbert created is reason enough to read the book. Although it falls in the sci-fi genre, it&#8217;s really other world politics. But the characters and interactions are worth the read.<\/p>\n<p>9. <em>From So Simple A Beginning\u00a0<\/em>by Charles Darwin (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/ebooks\/2009\">Find his work here<\/a>)\u00a0This gigantic book contains all of the scientific writings of Charles Darwin. In it, he writes about the Theory of Evolution, and much more. Read the book to understand some of the connections between our greatest achievements and Darwin&#8217;s science. Unfortunately, human beings also managed to use his brilliance to justify many of its inhumane acts. See if you can spot those connections too.<\/p>\n<p>10. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonandschuster.com\/books\/The-Chosen\/Chaim-Potok\/9781501142468\"><em>The Chosen<\/em><\/a>\u00a0 by Chaim Potok This is <a href=\"https:\/\/mhmundy.com\/blog\/topics\/books\/the-book-that-did-it\/\">my all time favorite book<\/a>. I&#8217;m not sure what made it so, but I just bet it had a whole lot to do with my age. When I read the book, I was an angry, frustrated teen; ready to rebel as much as any teen ever was.<\/p>\n<p>While reading the book, the unusual friendship between Danny and Reuven drew me into the story. At the same time, I found myself forever captured by Potok&#8217;s writing style because\u00a0 his words jumped off the page. For me, the combination was magical.<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_2pd1592   \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n    <h3>That&#8217;s My List Of Top 10 Books<\/h3>\n<p>Please share your favorite books.
